2024 Ford Maverick: The Compact Pickup Truck to Rule Them All

2024 Ford Maverick: The Compact Pickup Truck to Rule Them All – The compact pickup truck class has seen a resurgence in recent years, with automakers bringing back models that were once retired. And now, with the introduction of the 2024 Ford Maverick, this class has a new leader that is set to take the market by storm.

Competing against the Hyundai Santa Cruz, the Maverick offers several advantages over its only rival in the class. While the Santa Cruz may be able to tow more and provide more luxury features, it comes at a higher price point and has a smaller bed. On the other hand, the Maverick is priced competitively, has an impressive gas economy,

and boasts a masterful interior storage. The 2024 Ford Maverick is built on a powerful front-wheel-drive-biased system that can be locked in all-wheel drive. It also has a locking rear differential for maximum traction on slippery surfaces. This combination of features gives the Maverick an edge over its competition in terms of handling,

and overall performance. Despite its front-wheel-drive bias, the Maverick is still able to perform impressively in off-road conditions. This is thanks to its intelligent drivetrain that is capable of diverting power to the wheels with the most traction. One of the most impressive features of the Maverick is its gas economy,

These include under-seat storage, door pockets, and a storage bin located beneath the second-row seats. The Maverick may not be the most exciting truck to look at or to drive, but it more than makes up for this,

with its impressive performance, gas economy, and storage capabilities. And with its competitive pricing, it is sure to be a hit with consumers looking for a compact pickup truck that delivers on all fronts.

2024 Ford Maverick Engine

2024 Ford Maverick is a compact pickup truck that offers a fuel-efficient hybrid powertrain with front-wheel drive as standard. However, it also offers an optional turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with all-wheel drive, which is capable of delivering more power and quicker acceleration. In fact, with the optional engine,

the Maverick can go from zero to 60 mph in just 6.4 seconds, making it one of the quickest trucks in its class. The standard hybrid powertrain is certainly no slouch, delivering a combined 191 horsepower and a fuel economy rating of 37 mpg. This setup comes with a continuously variable automatic transmission and is only available,

with front-wheel drive. However, for those who want more power or all-wheel drive, the optional turbocharged engine is the way to go. With the turbocharged engine, the Maverick produces 250 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque, making it significantly more powerful than the standard hybrid powertrain.

The engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, which provides smooth and precise shifting. The all-wheel drive system is borrowed from the Bronco Sport Badlands and offers impressive traction and handling in a variety of conditions. The Maverick’s payload capacity is also quite impressive,

with more than enough room to carry a weekend’s worth of home improvement materials. In addition, the truck can be equipped to tow up to 4000 pounds, making it a capable and versatile workhorse. For those who need even more towing capacity, the Maverick offers a Tow package, which unlocks its maximum towing capacity of 4000 kilograms.

We highly recommend upgrading to the optional turbocharged engine if you want punchier acceleration and more power, especially if you plan to do any towing or hauling. All trims come standard with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine assisted by an electric motor, which delivers a combined 191 horsepower.

However, this setup is only available with front-wheel drive and a continuously variable automatic transmission. The 2.0-liter turbocharged engine is only offered with all-wheel drive, and it delivers significantly more power and better performance.

2024 Ford Maverick Redesign

The 2024 Ford Maverick boasts an innovative design that makes it a standout in the pickup truck segment alongside the Ranger and the F-150. Its rugged exterior styling, available in the XLT or Lariat trim, is paired with a non-hybrid all-wheel-drive powertrain that comes equipped with upgraded transmission coolers,

and half shafts to handle tougher conditions. All Mavericks feature crew cabs with four full-sized doors and a spacious back seat. The cabin is designed with ample storage cubbies and bins, including large compartments beneath the rear seat. While the base models are not luxurious, they do offer standard features like a tilt,

and telescoping steering wheel with audio controls, remote keyless entry, and adjustable lumbar support for the front seats. An 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and two USB ports are also standard on all Maverick trims.

The Lariat trim adds two additional USB ports, wireless charging, SiriusXM, and navigation through the luxury package. The base trim is equipped with 17-inch steel wheels, LED headlights, a molded-in black grille and surround, door and tailgate handles, and mirror caps.

Tinted windows, a tailgate lock, power locks and windows, remote keyless entry, and a capless gas filler are also included. In summary, the 2024 Ford Maverick offers a unique and practical design with a focus on functionality and convenience for drivers and passengers.
